We make beer!  That beautiful, mind-contorting, selfless nectar of the Gods...

Our Brews

News...

6/27/08 - Today The Mother Of All Porters was brewed.  Our brewing system was cranking out some delicious aromas and I'm really looking forward to this brew.  Half of it will be aged in bourbon soaked oak chips.  Yummy!!

6/14/08 - Brewed another batch of BBQ Pale Ale.  This beer is one of the most drinkable beers I have made.  It is filtered and dry hopped.  Check out this description written for the associated Rogue Apron event:

"Picture this: It’s a warm June evening. The fireflies are peppering the air around you with winks of neon luminescence. The smell of pork and bourbon wood smoke wafts gently around you. Your mouth is dry; yearning. And then you take that sip of EABs BBQ Pale Ale. You are not in heaven, but you are probably making some of those who are a little jealous. EABs newest brew features mostly American 2-row grains and hopped moderately with Amarillo and Cascades. The beer is a pale straw color and little bubbles of love make their way to it’s surface to greet the aroma of some excellent barbecue. EAB’s BBQ Pale Ale is sure to remind you of Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale, but with a freshness only The East Atlanta Brewery can deliver. Cheers!"

5/3/2008 - National Homebrew Day!  Today was a lot of fun and the weather actually wasn't as bad as forecasted. I brewed the Chiswick Bitter in honor of Michael Jackson.  Matt brewed a pale ale.  Abby and Colin brewed a Cherry (Kriek) Wheat.  We had several East Atlanta Village homebrewers come over with several brews.  Carter brought a Vanilla Bourbon Porter (it's amazing what one vanilla bean can do!!) and a Blonde Ale.  Derrick brought a Pilsner, a Bitter, and a Chai Brown Nut Ale! Matt brought a Black Ale (P-98) and his Wheat (I love Wyeast 3068 Weihenstephan).  The EAB was pouring the last of the Coconut Porter  and our Honey Wheat. Fred brought over some spent grain pumpkin spice bread and Derrick also brought over donuts!  Needless to say we had a great time.

4/28/2008 - Our second event with RogueApron went very well.  Richard had a Nutmeg Wit on tap and it was fantastic.  The Coconut Porter was very fresh and very well received.  I'll probably brew this one again sometime, but for now, we shall focus our attention to the next event...

4/27/2008 -  Today a Double Agent Orange ran through the brew kettle and into some fermentors.  It rained most of the day, but it was enjoyable for the most part.  I was very water-logged at the end of ti all, but the wort turned out great.  This beer will be conditioning for a while after primary fermentation is complete.  Next Saturday should be chock full of great brewers and beers!

4/22/08 - National Homebrew Day Announcement

Saturday, May 3rd is National Homebrew Day and we will be brewing!  Come on over and learn how to brew, have some brew and enjoy a beautiful May afternoon in my backyard.   If you are interested in brewing you can drop me a line and you can join in on the fun!!

4/13/2008 - Well, since spring is in the air (although today it was windy and cold) I brewed up a batch of Honey Wheat.  Just something to sip on during one of those lazy afternoons when we're all finished working for the man.  The Roasted Coconut Porter is just about finished fermenting and will be transferred to a secondary vessel this week. =)

4/5/2008 - The Roasted Coconut Porter has been brewed with over 2 lbs of freshly roasted coconut.  This will certainly be one of the more interesting beers I've made.  I'll be adding more roasted coconut to the serving tanks and the Rogue Apron folks will be stealing a little of it in about two weeks to use in preparing their main course.  This will probably be the last porter/stout style beer I brew for a while.  It's getting to the point where I miss brewing the Belgain ales and fun summer brews.

3/31/08 - Richard brewed a Hitachino White Ale clone yesterday... she's fermenting away at the moment! I'll be whipping up the Roasted Coconut Porter this coming weekend.  Get your game faces on!

3/29/08 - We're gearing up for the next Rogue Apron soirée on April 28.  We'll have a Roasted Coconut Porter and a clone of Hitachino's White Ale.  Also, a gang of us are heading up to Terrapin's grand opening today and are very happy to have another great microbrewery located here in Georgia!

2/18/08 - The first Rogue Apron St. Patty's Day was great success! We blew through two kegs of our Irish Red Ale.  Thanks for coming out to support us and our Rogue Apron comrades!  Hope to see all of you again soon!
